Letting go of harsh self-talk, building inner encouragement, and creating space for growth.

Description

Turning Kindness Inward: Self-Compassion & Navigating Burnout

One-day wellbeing and communication workshop for Leeds health and care staff

What if you offered yourself the same care and understanding you give to others?

In caring, busy roles, it's easy to keep going—focusing on what needs doing, supporting everyone around you, and pushing your own needs aside. But over time, that can leave you feeling drained, disconnected, or on the edge of burnout.

This workshop invites you to pause. To check in with how you’redoing, and to turn a little of that compassion inward. You’ll explore what self-kindness looks like in a work context, how to notice early signs of emotional overload, and how to respond with gentleness rather than pressure or judgement.

I didn’t realise how much I’d been running on empty until I gave myself permission to stop and breathe.

What we’ll explore in the workshop

  • What self-compassion is—and how it helps in work and life

  • The impact of ongoing stress and early signs of burnout

  • How to quiet the inner critic and soften self-pressure

  • Small, practical ways to recharge and feel more grounded

  • Mindful approaches to restore balance during the working week

What you might take away

  • A gentler mindset toward yourself and your working day

  • Tools to reset when things feel overwhelming

  • Permission to protect your energy and pace yourself

You can expect from us

  • A safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

  • A friendly and interactive delivery style

  • A mix of reflection, group discussion and practice-based learning

  • Encouragement to engage at your own pace and comfort level
