Wellness Recovery Action Plan® (8 session WRAP)
Wellness Recovery Action Plan® is an evidence-based approach to daily living, that supports us in maintaining wellness through life's challenges.
Description
WRAP is an evidence-based approach to daily living, that supports us in maintaining wellness through life's challenges. It involves creating a personalised plan that identifies what you need to do to support your mental health and wellbeing, along with strategies and tools to utilise during difficult times.
It is a tool that people can use to feel more in control of their wellbeing and personal recovery.
'WRAP can help you to create a snapshot of yourself at different stages of being well, to unwell and through peer discussion, and learning from the course create action plans to better support yourself at these different points.'
WRAP courses are led by two or more trained facilitators who have their own WRAP plan and use it to support their own mental health and wellbeing.
Wellness Recovery Action Plan® was developed by Mary-Ellen Copeland, an author, educator and mental health advocate. In Leeds Recovery College our lead WRAP facilitators are accredited to deliver the course content in line with WRAP's original values and ethics.
We asked some of our course participants what they would say to others to help describe this course;
'A useful course to draw attention to and break down the different areas of mental health struggles, and recovery.'
'It concentrates your awareness of when your mental health is slipping, personal triggers and coping techniques.'
'This course gives people who are struggling with depression, hope.'
'A warm, thoughtful, practical and safe environment to explore recovery and ways to maintain mental health as well as how and when to get help.'
'They should try it.'

Prerequisites
It's essential to consider your mental health and emotional wellbeing before booking on to this course. It is important to note that undertaking a WRAP may not be the best course of action during times of crisis or when experiencing significant difficulties with your mental health. In such moments, it is essential to prioritise immediate support and care, to navigate through the challenges you are facing.
