Assert Yourself Kindly

Communicating clearly and kindly, asking for what you need, and standing firm without losing connection.

Description

4-week community wellbeing course

Do you ever say “yes” when you mean “no,” avoid difficult conversations, or wish you could speak up more easily? This course explores how to communicate clearly and kindly while standing your ground. Assertiveness isn’t about being forceful - it’s about expressing your needs with confidence while respecting yourself and others.

In this course you will:

  • Explore what makes speaking up feel difficult

  • Understand passive, assertive and aggressive communication

  • Learn simple tools for clear, kind communication

  • Practise saying “no” without guilt and handling pushback

  • Build confidence in expressing your needs

You’ll be part of a warm, supportive group where you can reflect and practise at your own pace.

Who is it for?

This free course is open to everyone, whether you have lived experience of mental health challenges, work in a caring role, or simply feel it's time to be a little kinder to yourself. No referral needed, no prior experience required. Just come as you are.

You can expect from us:

  • A safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

  • A friendly and interactive delivery style

  • Encouragement to engage at your own pace and comfort level
