Being well together: Exploring WRAP recovery themes

Exploring key wellness and recovery themes, commonly discussed during WRAP courses.

Description

This course is distinct from our Wellness Recovery Action Plan® (WRAP) course and explores key wellness and mental health recovery themes, which are commonly discussed during WRAP courses.

You don’t need to have attended a WRAP course to take part in ‘Being Well Together’, but if you have attended a WRAP course, you may find this course to be a useful follow up and continuation of your learning.

Throughout the course, we will engage in a variety of facilitated activities, group discussions, and individual reflection exercises.Over the course we will be focusing on important topics including nurturing self-compassion, managing negative thoughts, boosting self-esteem, establishing healthy boundaries, and enhancing support networks, topics often discussed within our WRAP courses.

In this course we will,

  • Explore the concept of recovery and what wellness means for us.

  • Create strategies to cultivate self-compassion and ways to boost self-esteem.

  • Define what healthy boundaries mean for us in the different areas of our lives.

  • Engage in activities and discussions to deepen our understanding of the meaning of support in our lives and during our recovery journey.

What to expect:

  • Session 4: Self-esteem and valuing me: Together we’ll participate in activities aimed at recognising our worth and building positive self-image.

  • Session 5: Creating healthy boundaries: In this session we will explore what healthy boundaries mean for us in the various aspects of our lives, to protect our personal wellbeing.

  • Session 6: Exploring support networks: We will discuss the role of social support in our wellness and identify the people, places and practices that make up our support systems.

  • Session 7: Strengthening support: Continuing from the previous session, we will explore ways to cultivate and enhance our support systems.
